The diamond is a type of dumpling from Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and Indonesia, made of rice, which was wrapped in a cloth bag of palm leaf which is then boiled. When the rice is cooked, the grains expand to fill the bag and start the rice is packed. This method of cooking gives the diamond its characteristic shape and texture of rice dumpling.
